Koh-I-Noor L & C Hardtmuth Elephant Eraser 300/8

Regular price $5.50

This large eraser visually captures the history of the Koh-I-Noor company while efficiently handling mistakes.

In 1802 Joseph Hardtmuth patented the first pencil lead made from graphite and clay in Vienna Austria. Joseph's firm eventually became The L & C. Hardtmuth Company and in 1848 moved to what is now The Czech Republic. In 1888, L & C. Hardtmuth introduced the Koh-I-Noor 1500 Pencil, named after what was the largest known diamond in the world, and by the early 1900s was the largest pencil factory in the world. Based on the success of the 1500 pencil, the name of the company was changed to Koh-I-Noor Hardtmuth with an elephant trademark that's one of the oldest in the world.

The Hardtmuth 300/8 eraser retains its original formulation of natural rubber and pumice and will erase a wide range of graphite hardness from a variety of surfaces. Its size makes it particularly suitable for tackling large areas.
