Eberhard Faber The Twenties Vintage Pencil
This fascinating pencil was produced as a commemorative item by Eberhard Faber in the 1950s and will be appreciated by the vintage pencil collector. In all our years of doing this we've never seen these before and probably never will again. Image is painted on a natural cedar barrel, graphite grade is a little on the harder side and they still write incredibly well. There is a detail of the New York skyline included in the graphics
Eberhard Faber was a New York-based member of Germany's pioneering Faber pencil family, building his Manhattan factory, the first graphite pencil factory in the US, on the current site of the United Nations building, eventually relocating it to Brooklyn where it remained until 1956. The building still stands at 47-61 Greenpoint Avenue and is being converted to condos.
