Tombow introduced their first drawing pencil in 1928 and it was soon valued for its intense quality suitable for writing or drawing. What distinguishes Tombow's  pencils is their extra-refined, high-density graphite, which allows for a smooth, dark line when drawing or writing, smear-proof lines for crisp, clean drawings, and slow wear for smooth, dense writing. Offered in HB grade, similar to a standard No. 2 pencil, and softer, darker grades B and 2B.
