Vintage 1950's machine scoring pencils from the Musgrave Pencil Co. of Shelbyville, Tennessee. Barrel has a subtle "bonded lead" imprint which indicates that the graphite core is glued to the wooden casing, strengthening the pencil and reducing breakability, the mark (no pun intended) of a quality pencil. Graphite is on the softer side, we think closer to a B in grade. Erasers have stiffened over time but the pencil's appearance and lead performance are A+. For the pencil collector or a great student gift.
